Strings of the Tree
Medium: Drawing

Artist Statement:

The crisscrossing aerial roots resemble strings stretched open by the earth. Dense charcoal strokes depict the uneven texture of the roots and trunk, with meticulous transitions of light and shade. Setting aside the lush crown and foliage, the painting fixes its gaze on the tangled, coiling root system; vigorous lines interweave with one another, full of a raw and exuberant vitality. With a keen perspective, the young artist explores the inner strength of life taking root and renewing itself endlessly, storing boundless vitality within a still image.
