Golden Harbour, Flying Blossoms
Dimensions: 138 × 68 cm
Medium: Ink and colour on paper
Artist Statement:
The night colours of Hong Kong dissolve into ink rhythms, while Victoria Harbour’s fireworks drift towards the clouds. The silhouette of the Convention Centre is hidden among the dense towers; blossoms of fire scatter across the sky, their pastel hues blending into the deep ink of the night. Rippling light carries the glow of the waterfront, spreading a river of golden reflections, as a ferry drifts quietly across the misty waves. Splashed ink depicts the grandeur of the city, while the brushwork of traditional landscape painting is borrowed to portray contemporary prosperity — gathering the splendour of a harbour night banquet into a single sheet of xuan paper.
