Transcription: In the ninth month, the King was at Zongzhou and gave orders to Yu. The King spoke thus: “Yu! Greatly illustrious King Wen received the great mandate from Heaven. When King Wu succeeded to King Wen and established the state, he removed the wicked and spread his rule over the four quarters, governing the people with diligence. In the conduct of affairs, he did not dare to indulge in excessive drinking; in sacrifices and offerings, he did not dare to cause disorder. Thus Heaven, watching over its son, protected and preserved the former kings, spreading their rule over the four quarters.”
